Sexual Energy And Business - Are They Mutually Exclusive?!

Sexuality is definitely one of the few remaining taboos in the context of professional life. While in the office or doing business, we are not supposed to exhibit any behaviour which would encompass our sexual nature. Worse still, if we do, we are likely to get into trouble. Is there any place at all for sexual energy in business?

First of all, it needs to be stressed that sexual energy isn’t valid just in a purely sexual context.

It’s inherently connected to life force, creativity and how we show up in the world in general. It’s a little bit like physical fitness - the more of it you have, the more appetite for life you show.

Sexual energy circulating in your body makes you stand a little taller, talk a little louder and have that extra spring in your step and supercharged confidence in the boardroom. It helps you to stand up for yourself and be more assertive. It feeds those creative juices. It gives you more resilience to deal with workplace tensions and conflicts.

People who are sexually active are reported to be generally healthier and happier. This, obviously, affects your performance at work. Important to note that sexual activity doesn’t have to imply that you are having a lot of sex. You are simply sexually - and sensually - switched on and awake Your levels of embodiment and aliveness are high. Because of this, you have more energy and “juice” to tackle whatever challenges work throws at you.

All in all, it’s a shame sexuality and sexual energy often gets pushed down and suppressed as unsafe in professional environments. We could all do with a little sexiness being available to us throughout our careers. The world of work could be transformed once using your sexual energy on the job is no longer taboo (or risks landing you in jail). Hopefully that will become the case in not too distant future, helping create happier, more empowered and embodied workplace cultures all over the world.
